Central Arkansas Pride
In July 2013, organizers met for the first time to organize a Pride event in Central Arkansas. Wanting to get the event on the books that year, the group scheduled the first Central Arkansas Pride in October of 2013, and we’ve gathered to celebrate Pride in October ever since.
PRIDEFest is traditionally the third Saturday of each October, the weather is mild verses the heat of June.
While June is recognized as Pride Month, many Pride celebrations across the U.S. happen at different points in the year. October happens to be National LGBTQ+ History Month, and National Coming Out Day is Oct. 11. We hope people will celebrate all the wonderful Arkansas Pride events in June, October, and throughout the year!

Ensuring Pride and Safety for our Team
Because of the ongoing threats and targeting of 2SLGBTQIA+ work, non-profits generally, and pride organizations, specifically, we’ve made the decision not to share Volunteer board member full names or photos here. This is about keeping our team safe—plain and simple. The Central Arkansas Pride team is made up of individuals who not only do the work, but live the work. Our community knows us, and we are proud to be part of the community.
While we hope this is a temporary change, we recognize it might feel strange – it does to us. Nothing has changed about our mission to foster pride, equality, and respect for all lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender communities locally, nationally, and globally.
If you need to get in touch, please email us, and we will get back to you as soon as we are able. We’re grateful for your support and for standing with us in protecting the people who work everyday to help build a world free of prejudice and bias.
