Central Arkansas Pride Board and Lead Requirements

The mission of Central Arkansas Pride is to celebrate the history and culture of our community through Pride events and programs that inspire, educate, strengthen, and unite.

The success of Central Arkansas Pride relies heavily on the commitment of its board members. As a member of Central Arkansas Pride’s Board of Directors and Leads, I understand my duties and responsibilities include the following:

  • I am fiscally responsible, along with other board members and leadership team, for this organization.

  • It is my duty to understand our budget and take an active role in planning, implementing and fundraising to keep the organization fiscally healthy.

  • I and other board members are legally responsible for this organization. I must know and approve all policies and programs and oversee their implementation.

  • I am morally responsible for the health and well-being of this organization. As a member of the board, I have pledged myself to carry out this organization's mission of Central Arkansas Pride. I am fully committed and dedicated to this mission.

  • I will actively fundraise for this organization in the capacity best suited for me. These activities may include individual solicitation, special events, or written email appeals.

  • I will attend and actively participate in 75% of board meetings each year. Self-starting, ability to constructively lead and contribute to a team environment. I will actively communicate with the board at meetings as required.

  • I will bring a boots on the ground approach to contribute time and talent to the service of the LGBTQIA+ community here in Arkansas.

Additional requirements and expectations:

  • Board members and leads serve a three-year term, and members must re-apply at the end of their term.

  • Candidates should have a desire and drive to ensure the Central Arkansas PRIDEFest and other community engagement programming provide a memorable experience for all members of the LGBTQIA+ community, operate smoothly.

  • Board members and leads share a commitment to attend support CAP sponsored events and programming and may be asked to assist with special projects as needed.

Central Arkansas Pride is pleased to announce the following openings on our Board of Directors and Lead for 2025. We are seeking highly motivated individuals who want to give back and support Arkansas's LGBTQIA+ community by serving in the following positions: Communications Director, Event Director, Logistics Lead, or Community Director. If you have experience in community engagement, event planning, and logistics we invite you to apply!

Central Arkansas Pride is a 501(c)(3) non-profit and volunteer-based organization that has been building a welcoming community for LGBTQIA+ Arkansans for more than 11 years. We come together to celebrate the history and culture of Arkansas’s LGBTQIA+ community through Pride events and programs that inspire, strengthen, and unite.
